Twenty-One
Another handsome boy in my life. Having fun at Chelsea's swim party. And to think he was reluctant to swim ...

3rd grade music program. So. Handsome. And he sang his heart out. Love, love, love. Beforehand he warned me they were going to sing a song about kissing a girl. Then he said, "That's a little inappropriate. Don't you think?"

Missy seems to be feeling better, but when I got out of the shower this afternoon she had taken off her clothes and climbed under the covers. We didn't do much today, but she was tuckered out by 5 p.m. Being six is exhausting.

Birthday dinner, cake and ice cream, a day late.
She didn't eat much cake, but licked up all the ice cream!
One of her FAVORITE presents! You can color the other side of this puzzle!

Happy Birthday baby big girl!!!
8:00 a.m.
5:00 p.m.
Just waking up from a loooong nap. She got sent home from school early for throwing up on the table during reading group :0
6:00 p.m. She perked up a little bit to open Grandma Barb's presents.
Too much excitement, too soon, and she started throwing up again.
8:00 p.m.
A couple more gifts for a sick day tomorrow.

Nine
It was a very busy evening. You see we are preparing for the big birthday tomorrow. We have a very excited five, almost six year old. This may be the first year she actually gets it.
I am five years old. I have a birthday. Then I will be six years old. The five year old thing is gone forever. I'll be six. Six! A big kid. Wow. It's pretty fun to have a conversation with her about the whole birthday thing. It doesn't take much to excite her, and not once has she asked for anything. No toys, presents, gifts, just chocolate cake please. And chocolate ice cream. Wow. Love that girl.
Because there's been some extra attention on Chelsea, and he can't stand it when other people have birthdays and get presents, it's been an Epsom bath kind of night for Logan. Yep. There have been tears, and kicking, and screaming, and hitting, and lots of shouting. Come Wednesday I sure hope we can move on and regain a little routine, and in turn a little tranquility. (Well, our version of tranquility. Most would still probably consider it chaos.)
Somebody was oh so pleased to see mom had baked that chocolate cake. She was sure we were going to eat it tonight. She also thinks we will be having her swimming party tomorrow. On her birthday. Just wait until she realizes her party isn't for a week and a half.
I asked her yesterday, "do you want pink or purple cookies?"
"Pink AND purple."
How do I say no?
So how do we color frosting for giant homemade sugar cookies (without using petroleum store bought food coloring)?
And voila!
Okay, I could totally lie and let you all believe the strawberries made that beautiful pink frosting. But it didn't. I'm still learning, and since we had fresh organic strawberries in the fridge I thought I'd give it a try. The pink was very very pale. Hubs had to run to the store for more powdered sugar so I had him grab a can of beets while he was out. There is no better pink coloring than a couple of teaspoons of beet juice. Just gorgeous! I may not be a great decorator, but I'm pretty sure her friends won't mind!

Sandwich bread, take 1. I was running out of time, and should have let it rise a little longer, but overall, not too bad!

School and a holiday party proved to be too much for this one. Hoping this is not a preview of our weekend. Lovey girl is breaking my heart.

I did actually take a few real pictures today. With a real camera. The fun pictures are always caught with the iPhone though. So here we are. Santa left these damn headlights in the kid's stockings. They always shine them straight in my face. Bring on the headache.

Two
No time for pictures today, I spent most of my day doing this. Not complaining about the company, but the tummy troubles continue to wreak havoc for this little princess. It's been a week and no improvement in sight. She's down six pounds which would be a blessing for most of us, but when you're pint sized it really shows. Hoping to get in to the doctor in the morning, it's been a long holiday weekend.

One
I picked my battles today. This was not one of them.
Big brother's sleeveless t-shirt, soccer shorts, and snow boots. Whatever.
