Sixteen

She fixed her own hair today!  There are 2 rubber bands in there somewhere.  Love her independence!

Insomnia is not helped by the bright lights of the Griswalds.  Seriously, I'm ready for Valentine's Day, enough of the Christmas lights!!!

I am sorry Brick ran away Logan.

Apology note written after Chelsea carelessly left the door open & our maniac dog dashed outside.  Unfortunately we found him, but before he came to me he ran circles around us at 100 mph for a few minutes.  Nuts, the dog is truly nuts.

Monday, Monday.

Left over birthday cake, yum!

Eight is great!

Low key family birthday at the pizza place - the big bash with her friends will be next weekend.

Surgery follow up & eye exam.  I'm pretty sure the exam was inconclusive again, the doctor just couldn't get her to read the correct letters ... Even though of course she knows the letters.  The dr. tried the pictures just in case & she did even worse.  We tweaked her RX just a bit & they'll try again in 3 months!

Preparing for the big BIRTHDAY tomorrow!

Finally, WBC is back up!  Full day at the Down syndrome clinic today.  We met with SLP, audiology, OT, behavioral psychologist, nutritionist & a pediatrician. They were all very thorough & very impressed with miss Chelsea.  We will continue to monitor her counts this winter to be sure her WBC are stabilized.  Overall a long day, but fortunately we only go every 2-3 years.

Chelsea made KCDSG Connections this month!

Happy New Year!

Holidays 2013

Can’t let another year pass,
Without a card or rhyme.
So much is changing this year,
I’ll catch you up in time.

Now our little family
So cozy just as four;
Chose to mix things up a bit,
And add to our crew one more.

The baby’s set to arrive,
Before we welcome spring.
The due date is yours to solve,
What clues does this card bring?

Dad, he’s been a working man,
One year now as RN.
Six pins for patient care proves,
His skills come from within.

Mom spent months in bed- plain sick,
Wondering what she’d done.
The pain will be worth it though,
Once we hold our newborn son.

Logan tried out basketball,
Met lots of brand new friends;
Ends his elementary school,
Embracing latest trends.

Chelsea perfects first grade skills,
Dons hearing aid and specs;
Bad illness hit hard this fall,
Had us nervous for a sec.

Remember all your blessings,
Don’t dwell on what you’re without.
Next year will bring all we need,
I say without a doubt.

Happy Holidays!
Ryan, Carey, Logan, Chelsea, & Brick
